St. Patrick’s celebrated All Saints Day with a St. Patrick School tradition at the 9 AM Mass on Friday, October 31st, 2008. Many years ago, Sister Patricia Ann Kenney began a tradition of having first grade students research a saint, then write and memorize a speech about him or her. Several student, dressed as their saint, were then selected to recite their speeches during a school Mass. Sister Patricia retired at the end of the last school year but the tradition was continued by first grade teachers Maureen DiPaola and Gina Verso. Thank you to all our saints!

This is an important notice to all our parishioners and all who come to St. Patrick Church regarding parking restrictions.
Recently some children were almost hit walking between cars parked along the curb to get to their car with their parents. Many people park along the curbs for convenience when coming to Church, picking up children from religious education and school, and other functions. This has become a problem with safety. There are more than enough designated spaces in the parking lot. They may not all be as close as the curbs, but their use does help us to have better safety. When cars are parked along both curbs there is only room for one car at a time to pass through. The driveways are designed for two way traffic, not for parking. In the past few months we have had to call for assistance from personnel in emergency vehicles for some of our parishioners, and cars parked in non-designated spaces impede their ability to get in safely and efficiently. Parking along the curbs blinds drivers and pedestrians to one another’s presence. We have taken steps to improve safety by painting the curbs white and having “No Parking” painted on the pavement. At the same time, we ask that everyone please adhere to these signs so we can have safety for all. Safety is much more important than convenience. Let us work and act together for the good of all. Please do not park in “No Parking” areas.
Thank you so much for your attention to this important matter.

The fourth grade classes began the school year with an exciting project. We decided to fill a time capsule with our goals for fourth grade, a picture of ourselves, and something special that means a lot to us. It was a wonderful way to get to know each other and to think about what we would like to accomplish this year. We will open our time capsules the last week of June. We buried them in the garden in the courtyard on a beautiful, sunny day. Let’s hope we succeed in accomplishing all the goals!
