Check back here on a regular basis to keep up with the happenings, events, and announcements about life in the Parish community.  If you have an event that you would like to include in the news section of the website, please email a short article or description of the event, along with a photograph or two to: news@stpatricksmithtown.org

Also featured in the Parish News, is an RSS feed. RSS (Really Simple Syndication)feeds allow those of you who use feed readers or aggregators to keep up with the happenings of our parish.  RSS feeds can often be identied by the icon “.” This YouTube video provides a brief introduction to RSS.

When viewing the news, and using the various selections and filters available in the right hand column, it is very easy to filter out all the news articles. By clicking on the newspaper image or link to the right, all the filters and selections will be cleared, restoring full view of all the news articles.

Irish Pub Night

If you missed our Irish Pub Night on June 27th, 2008, you missed out on great food, great fellowship, and outstanding entertainment. Andy Cooney (top), his band (middle), and comedian George Casey (bottom, with Fathers Jilson and Fred) made our first ever Irish Pub Night truly remarkable.

Volunteer Thank You Party

Friday night on May 23rd, 2008, a Thank You Party was held for our parish volunteers. Our Priests and the Parish Staff sang a special song thanking all our parish groups and volunteers for their special gifts of love, time and resources.

St. Patrick School Car Show

St. Patrick School hosted its Third Annual Car Show on Sunday, April 20th, 2008. It was a “day of fun for the whole family” as advertised.Many thanks to John & Cindy Forlenza and all those who brought their vehicles, volunteered their time or donated supplies to make the show a success.

St. Patrick's Day Dinner Dance

A good time was had by all at the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance on Friday, March 14th. Two special guests, John Kennedy and Jackie Pamlayne (pictured top left) were honored at the dance for their work in founding the Catholic Middle Schools Athletic Association.

St. Patrick's 2006 Lenten Project in India Opens

In 2006, our Parish Lenten Project was to finance the construction of a center for the disabled in South India which has now become a reality. St. Patrick’s Anugrahalaya (House of Blessing) was blessed and opened last month and is now providing much needed assistance to the disabled in the region. Many thanks to all those who donated to this very worthy project.
