St. Patrick School Christmas Concert

On Tuesday, December 16th, 2008, St. Patrick School held its annual Christmas Concert. The 5th and 6th Grade Chorus performed as well as the School Band and Twirlers.

All Saints Day Celebrated by First Graders

St. Patrick’s celebrated All Saints Day with a St. Patrick School tradition at the 9 AM Mass on Friday, October 31st, 2008. Many years ago, Sister Patricia Ann Kenney began a tradition of having first grade students research a saint, then write and memorize a speech about him or her. Several student, dressed as their saint, were then selected to recite their speeches during a school Mass. Sister Patricia retired at the end of the last school year but the tradition was continued by first grade teachers Maureen DiPaola and Gina Verso. Thank you to all our saints!

St. Patrick School Girls’ Soccer Team

The St. Patrick School Girls’ Soccer Team is all smiles after a 3 to 2 victory over Holy Trinity. The team competes in the Catholic Middle School Athletic Association. St. Patrick School fall sports teams also includes two boys’ soccer teams and boys and girls cross country teams.

4th Grade Time Capsule

The fourth grade classes began the school year with an exciting project. We decided to fill a time capsule with our goals for fourth grade, a picture of ourselves, and something special that means a lot to us. It was a wonderful way to get to know each other and to think about what we would like to accomplish this year. We will open our time capsules the last week of June. We buried them in the garden in the courtyard on a beautiful, sunny day. Let’s hope we succeed in accomplishing all the goals!

Morning rain on October 4th, 2008 may have forced most vendors inside Canning Hall but spirits were not dampened at the Fall Festival and Craft Fair sponsored by the St. Patrick School Parents’ Guild.

October Students of the Month

St. Patrick School presented Citizen of the Month awards at the First Friday Mass on October 3rd. One student from each class received the award. Recipients were judged by the following criteria:
“Being a good citizen means that you are a responsible person in your school, family, and church. When you are a good citizen you are respectful, caring and fair. You are polite and use good manners. You help people. You fix things and you work to make things better for everyone and everything. You speak out when you see something is wrong or unfair. Good citizens love their church and their country. Good citizens do their best to follow the rules. A good citizen must be willing to work hard and do their best.”
